lm Fest is over for the semester. We had some issues with room reservations this year because the Office of Campus reservations likes to selectively target groups and slap them with all sorts of crazy charges for political reasons, but we're going to do it again next semester because it was such a success! Groups who had never worked together before co-sponsored movies together and built personal working relationships. We proved that our separate struggles are really one! So keep checking back for info about next semester's Radical Film Fest.
The idea of the Radical Film Fest is to facilitate proactive cooperation amongst various progressive groups on campus, as well as to demonstrate that "our separate struggles are really one." A movie will be shown each Thursday at 7pm in 2203 Art-Sociology beginning Sept 25. The movie will be selected and co-sponsored by various campus groups. They will work together to promote and organize the event, and perhaps even a corresponding teach-in. This will also give the groups another chance to do outreach on campus.
All co-sponsoring organizations are responsible for their own promotion, though the schedule will be given to select professors to announce in their classes.
